Mrs. Healy's 1st Grade Classroom (http://www.mrshealeysclass.com/index.html)
Mrs. Healy's 1st grade website was really cute and well thought out. It is extremely appealing to the eye. She introduce her class as the "1H family" which included a class picture of all the students. Mrs. Healy's website included what a typical day looked like. The highlight of her website was a beautifully captured collections of pictures from her actual classroom. You really got to get a sense of what a typical day was like in Mrs. Healy's 1st grade class. In her parents corner, in addition to access to important information about the class she included healthy snack ideas for parents. Since they were required to send in a healthy snack with their child I thought this was a nice resource to provide families with. I felt that it was a nice touch to add for parents. In the "look what we've been doing" section, Mrs. Healy included more pictures of activities and projects the students were actually working on. Mrs Healy did not overlook her rules and procedures. My most favorite thing that Mrs. Healy added to her we page that made it unique was a resource for parents about "talking to your child about their day". I really liked that she added that feature. This website is a great resource for parents.
Welcome to Mrs. Herbic's Kindergaten Classroom (http://mrsherbic.com/homePage.asp)
Mrs. Herbic’s kindergarten website is colorful, fun and appealing. The graphics used are very kid oriented. A really nice highlight to Mrs. Herbic’s website are the pictures posted of their actual classroom. These pictures were clearly taken and included every aspect of Mrs. Herbic’s classroom. It included pictures if their learning centers, the classroom arrangement and their behavior management system. One great touch that Mrs. Herbic included on her website was a parent page which included great information for how parents can connect and support their students at home. The resources help families support right through early adolescent years. Another great tough Mrs. Herbic added to her website was a page on her personal philosophy of education. Like Miss Colville, Mrs. Herbic provides great links to learning resources that students can access to home to help enhance reading and math skills.

This website is great tool that everyone can benefit from There is a section for parents, students and fellow teachers. Mrs. Sanchez gives viewers full access into her 4th grade classroom. She has her classroom rules and behavior management system clearly outlined. Mrs. Sanchez developed a parent corner that provides parents with tons of resources that help parents help their students in different subjects. Kuddos to Mrs. Sanchez for developing an awesome classroom website.
Welcome to Miss Colville's 2nd Grade Classroom (http://www.eastpennsd.org/teacherpages/kcolville/)
What a great website!
Miss Colville really lets us into her 2nd grade classroom in Macungie, PA with this website. Her “about me” profile is cute, simple and gives you a brief synopsis of who she is. After reading her profile you feel so welcomed into her classroom. Some of the highlights of her classroom are “the Explorer of the Week” and the “Mystery Reader”. Her website is attractive and carries the high themed morale of the Shoemaker Elementary School. Home go the Mustangs where the students are “Wild About Learning”. Miss Colville provides a section called “computer fun” where students can access educational literacy and math games to help support concepts learned in the class. Miss Colville clearly outlines her classroom behavior plan for the classroom. This helps keep parents informed as to how misbehavior is handled. The page is very appealing, colorful and attractive. The expectations of the classroom are clear, fair and appropriate for the students. The consequences for misbehavior are clearly outlined. Miss Colville’s website is a great bridge extending families in her 2nd grade classroom when they are at home. She developed it in a such a way where you will always be informed. I really think the content is very organized and structured. Miss Colville posts lots of pictures showing what her students complete in the classroom. Parents can stay connected to what is going on. I really think that Miss Colville really put thought into the creation of this website.
The Busy Teacher's Cafe
The Busy Teacher’s Cafe www.busyteacherscafe.com is a great website for teachers of students in grade K - 6. Besides it being an attractive website it is also user-friendly and easy to navigate. It serves as a great resource for other “busy teachers”. The website offers a list of themed activities, classroom management and literacy strategies, printable materials by subject, additional resources to enhance classroom instruction and provide professional development. The teacher shop link gives you access to educational resources like flashcards, worksheets, planners etc. There is also a monthly resource tab that provides informational resources organized by month and season.
The strategies table offers various strategies for teaching and classroom management. It offers tons of resources that teachers can use to help build interactive learning centers, provide students with extra support and materials to aid teachers in successful management of the classroom.
At times it can be overwhelming for teachers to meet the needs of their students, provide access to useful resources for parents, and establish an effective learning environment, all at once. I think that the busy teacher’s cafe lives up to their name. It is a great tool for just that, “busy teachers”. It is a one stop shop of resources for the classroom.
Teachers' websites for ideas and strategies on classroom arrangement, structure, activities, and organization
Classroom management is essential in order for the classroom to function effectively. How the environment is structured, where things are arranged, how they are organized and what activities are chosen are what make a classroom successful. In order to be an effective teacher it is important to develop a positive, stimulating, learning environment. As I browsed the internet to find additional resources that help aid teachers with ideas and strategies, I came across the following great teacher websites:
