Mrs. Healy's 1st Grade Classroom (http://www.mrshealeysclass.com/index.html)

Mrs. Healy's 1st grade website was really cute and well thought out.  It is extremely appealing to the eye.  She introduce her class as the "1H family" which included a class picture of all the students.  Mrs. Healy's website included what a typical day looked like.  The highlight of her website was a beautifully captured collections of pictures from her actual classroom.  You really got to get a sense of what a typical day was like in Mrs. Healy's 1st grade class.  In her parents corner, in addition to access to important information about the class she included healthy snack ideas for parents.  Since they were required to send in a healthy snack with their child I thought this was a nice resource to provide families with.  I felt that it was a nice touch to add for parents.  In the "look what we've been doing" section, Mrs. Healy included more pictures of activities and projects the students were actually working on.  Mrs Healy did not overlook her rules and procedures.  My most favorite thing that Mrs. Healy added to her we page that made it unique was a resource for parents about "talking to your child about their day". I really liked that she added that feature.  This website is a great resource for parents.

  1. I loved the Healthy Snack Ideas! This is an awesome resource for parents, especially parents in a hurry or who need to plan ahead. In fact, I really liked all of the links provided in the Parent Corner because there was a variety of links provided to information that is useful for parents who want to be actively involved in the child's education and classroom.
I also really liked the classroom tour with all of the pictures. I think this is a really great way for parents to view the classroom as well as other teachers. You can see in the pictures that it appears to be a developmentally appropriate class in which materials are accessible and students are able to move about and explore with in the environment. I agree that the website is a great resource for parents.
